Smashed Burgers
THE INGREDIENTS
- 500 beef mince (80/20) (makes 4 patties)
- salt, to taste
- freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- Brioche Buns
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- pickles
- onion, thinly sliced
Burger Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1-2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- freshly cracked black pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Divide the beef mince into (113g) portions. Roll each portion into balls. Place each ball between 2 pieces of parchment paper.
- Use the flat side of a burger press to flatten them into thin rounds.
Make the sauce:
Combine all the ingredients together and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Cook the Patties:
- Pre heat bbq flat plate on medium-high heat.
- Season one side of the meat with salt and black pepper. Place the seasoned side down onto the hot BBQ and season the other side with salt and pepper.
- Cook 1-2 minutes and flip. Cook 30 seconds to a minute and top one of the burger patties with cheese. Place the other patty on top and remove from the pan.
Assemble the Burgers:
- Toast the buns on the grill for about 30 seconds and transfer to a plate.
- Place a spoonful of sauce on the bottom bun Add the Pattie on top. Place pickles over the patties, more sauce and then the bun. Serve.
