Sausage Rolls

THE INGREDIENTS

  • 6 good quality beef sausages (or your favourite pre-made sausage)
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Pre-heat BBQ to 220c indirect heat.

2. Beat egg and mustard together.

3. Cut each sheet of pastry in half and brush egg mixture onto one side of each pastry rectangle.

4. Split sausage casing and lay filling onto pastry lengthwise, One and a half sausages per rectangle.

5. Fold over and seal edges. Crimp with fork and trim excess pastry.

6. Cut each long roll into 3 and coat with egg wash.

7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

8. Bake for 15-20 min or until pastry is suitably golden.

Notes: Serve with your favourite tomato ketchup or chutney.
