The Excelsior Interlock System comes complete with a 24V gas solenoid valve and air switch and allows the Excelsior Rangehood, or other approved rangehoods, to be powered via the interlock controller.
Our Excelsior Interlock System, when used in conjunction with an Excelsior Rangehood, is designed to ensure the supply of gas to a gas appliance, is only possible when the connected rangehood is in operating mode.
Once installed, the unit detects when the rangehood fan is switched on and running. It then activates the air switch, which in turn energises the gas solenoid valve, allowing gas to flow to the appliance.
In the event of the rangehood fan stopping or failing to generate sufficient air flow/pressure, the air switch will trigger the gas solenoid valve to be de-energized, cutting off the gas supply to the appliance.
Typically, this interlock system would be fitted to an approved gas barbecue with flame failure device that is installed in a residential alfresco area under a suitable Excelsior Rangehood.
