Pizza Base
THE INGREDIENTS
- 350g plain flow (about 2 ½ cups)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 sachet dry yeast (about 7g)
- 220 ml warm water
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
***for toppings use toppings of choice***
INSTRUCTIONS
- Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl. Mix the yeast, water and oil and pour flour into mixture. Stir with a flat bladed knife until combined. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until soft (dough will be a little sticky). Place in bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave to prove in a warm, draft free place until doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
- Preheat BBQ to 240c-290c Divide dough into 4 and roll out each on a lightly floured surface into thin rounds.
- Add ingredients and put onto pizza stone on BBQ, cooking time will vary depending on how many toppings.
- Once cheese has melted and base is crispy remove and serve.
