Pizza Base

THE INGREDIENTS

  • 350g plain flow (about 2 ½ cups)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 sachet dry yeast (about 7g)
  • 220 ml warm water
  • 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil

***for toppings use toppings of choice***

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl. Mix the yeast, water and oil and pour flour into mixture. Stir with a flat bladed knife until combined. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until soft (dough will be a little sticky). Place in bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave to prove in a warm, draft free place until doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
  2. Preheat BBQ to 240c-290c Divide dough into 4 and roll out each on a lightly floured surface into thin rounds.
  3. Add ingredients and put onto pizza stone on BBQ, cooking time will vary depending on how many toppings.
  4. Once cheese has melted and base is crispy remove and serve.
