Apple Crumble

THE INGREDIENTS
Filling
- 1kg granny smith apples
- 1 tbsp. Plain flour
- 50g white sugar
- 50g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. Lemon juice
- ½ tsp. Cinnamon
Topping
- 90g rolled oats
- 150g plain flour
- 125g brown sugar
- 50g caster sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 125g unsalted butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat BBQ to 200 degrees indirect heat
- Peel apples then cut into cubes
- Apple filling – place apples in a bowl, sprinkle with flour, sugars and cinnamon, then pour over lemon juice. Toss and spread over tray.
- Crumble topping – place topping ingredients in a bowl. Mix until clumps form like wet sand. Spread over the apples.
- Bake for 30-40mins or until golden brown. Stand for 10 mins before serving with vanilla ice-cream.
Recipe notes:
- For the Q range make sure to use convection tray and trivet to achieve indirect cooking.
- I used tinned apples in lieu of fresh and it achieved a very similar delicious result!
