Apple Crumble

THE INGREDIENTS

Filling

  • 1kg granny smith apples
  • 1 tbsp. Plain flour
  • 50g white sugar
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. Cinnamon

Topping

  • 90g rolled oats
  • 150g plain flour
  • 125g brown sugar
  • 50g caster sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 125g unsalted butter
 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat BBQ to 200 degrees indirect heat
  2. Peel apples then cut into cubes
  3. Apple filling – place apples in a bowl, sprinkle with flour, sugars and cinnamon, then pour over lemon juice. Toss and spread over tray.
  4. Crumble topping – place topping ingredients in a bowl. Mix until clumps form like wet sand. Spread over the apples.
  5. Bake for 30-40mins or until golden brown. Stand for 10 mins before serving with vanilla ice-cream.

Recipe notes:

  • For the Q range make sure to use convection tray and trivet to achieve indirect cooking.
  • I used tinned apples in lieu of fresh and it achieved a very similar delicious result!
